Good nutrition keeps your muscles — including your breathing muscles — strong.
Everyday tips
- Small, frequent meals are easier if you get breathless while eating.
- Include protein at every meal — dal, eggs, fish, milk, curd, paneer or pulses.
- Tell your doctor if you are losing weight without trying.
- Drink enough water unless your doctor has advised you to limit fluids.
If you have acid reflux
- Avoid large meals late at night.
- Raise the head end of the bed slightly.
If you take ILD medicines
- Some antifibrotic medicines work best taken with food — follow your doctor's advice.
- If you are on steroids, your doctor may check your blood sugar and advise on salt and calcium.
